The starting point of this full-day private tour will be your guide picking you up at the door of your accommodation in a comfortable transportation.
On this private tour, we will head to the village of Celorico da Beira, known as the capital of Serra da Estrela cheese. We suggest a visit to the Cheese Solar Museum to learn more about the local ancient tradition of cheese production. The village itself, with its castle and walls, will highlight the historical value that this village has to offer.
Next, we will stop at the village of Sabugueiro in Seia, considered the highest village in Portugal. It is in this region that you can enjoy your lunch (not included).
After lunch, get ready to discover what this small village - seemingly taken out of a fairy tale - has to offer. Observe the various rural houses and cabins, as well as the natural elements of the village, such as waterfalls and vast green and mountainous landscapes. These landscapes are seen as sources of tranquil inspiration and instant aesthetic harmony.
We will safely ascend the mountain to its summit, where you can marvel at the shepherds' shelters, ancient trails, and timeless granite rocks along the way.
At the top, you will encounter the famous Serra da Estrela Tower, elevated at 1993 meters - a tourist attraction that may be subject to weather conditions. As the highest point, you can be amazed by the beautiful panoramic views from the mountaintop, which will further enchant you with the scenery. You will also find regional gastronomic products and local crafts, with Serra da Estrela Cheese being the most sought-after product by tourists.
