The first point of visit on this private excursion will be in Coimbra – a historic and university city, considered the capital of Portugal during the Middle Ages. We will take a walk through its historic center, which has much to offer, such as its medieval narrow streets, monuments, and historic buildings. This includes the Almedina Arch, seen as the main gate of the city's old wall, as well as the Quebra Costas Stairs – a historic spot that connects the Arch to the square of the Old Cathedral.
Next, we will visit the most famous landmark of the city, the University of Coimbra – a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe. You will learn more about the daily life, academic environment, and various traditions that permeate the university.
Continuing on this private experience, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a tour of the beautiful city of Aveiro. Here, you will admire the harmonious combination of the city's historical character and its relaxing atmosphere. We will take a walking tour through its wonderful and well-preserved historic center, where you can appreciate its streets, squares, and other characteristic buildings known for their "Art Nouveau" style. This style has earned Aveiro the title of "city-museum of Art Nouveau".
As Aveiro is renowned for its canals and lagoons, which provide a sense of serenity, it will be a unique experience to be part of a 45-minute cruise on one of the traditional colorful boats of Aveiro – the Moliceiro. It is a moment that will dazzle you with incredible views of the city reflected in the water. It's a great way to relax and enjoy one of the distinctive aspects of Aveiro, namely its favorable microclimate, which contributes to a pleasant experience throughout the year.
After this peaceful boat trip, we will visit the Costa Nova area. This area is known for its old colorful houses with a unique and attractive style – known as "palheiros" – and it offers an incredible view of Costa Nova Beach. It's a beautiful beach with white sand and crystal-clear waters, where you can enjoy the sea breeze and listen to the sound of the waves.
To ensure that this journey ends in the best possible way, you will return to Porto in the late afternoon, and your guide will safely drop you off at your accommodation.
