While traveling to the Douro region, you will be enchanted by the amazing views that surround you along the way and listen to the insights and highlights that your guide will reveal to you. Take the opportunity to frame this unique landscape or video when we stop at one of the most breathtaking panoramic viewpoints in the region.
Upon arrival in the Demarcated Douro Region - one of the oldest wine regions in the world - you will be invited to explore the facilities and vineyards of a renowned modern Port wine estate. In this Winery you will be guided through the history of the estate, its owners and its wines, as well as the winemaking process used to produce some of the best wines in the region. Beyond this historical aspect, you will be part of a tasting experience where you will be able to savour selected typical and more contemporary wines.
As we leave the “Quinta” still with the flavour of the wine in our mouths, let your exclusive guide introduce you to the dishes that will be part of your lunch during the trip. Since our next stop will be devoted to a delicious meal typical of Portuguese Cuisine, paired with some of the Douro's best wines, red and white. These wines are specially selected to complement the gastronomic experience. Relax and be delighted by the very natural view that surrounds you during your lunch.
After lunch and to further enrich your tour, you can unwind and admire the panoramic landscape and the true charm of the Douro River on a cruise of about 45 minutes in Pinhão. Revel in this cruise while admiring the overwhelming scenery that the valley has to offer. Take the opportunity to observe the vineyards and estates from a unique viewpoint of the Douro River.
As you set foot on solid ground again, enjoy a short stop in the historic centre of Pinhão. Enjoy the landscapes that surround the village, and you can visit one of the most well-known tourist landmarks of the Douro region - the famous Pinhão Railway Station. Designed to connect the Douro Valley to the rest of the country, the station features unique architecture and beauty with its tiled façade that represents the history and culture of the area.
Afterwards, in contrast to the first estate, we will visit a second, older and more traditional local wine producing vineyard. Here you can learn about all the historical tradition and symbology that the estate and its owners have to share about wine making and its process. Do also join us for another wine tasting, including selected fortified wines, while learning about the distinct varieties and flavours each one has to offer. Take the opportunity to breathe deeply the pure air of the Douro Valley and feel the magic of this land becoming ingraining itself in you.
On the way back, we will follow a selected itinerary towards Porto. The tour will finish at your accommodation.
