As we enter this historic city in Portugal, we will cross the city's imposing fortress, hundreds of years old. Built between the 16th and 17th centuries, this fortress played a strategic role in defending the Portuguese border and the city against Spanish invaders. Walk around this place and enjoy the fantastic panoramic views.
Also take the opportunity to stroll around the narrow streets of the historic center, and appreciate some of its most emblematic monuments, such as the Porta do Meio, the Porta da Coroada, the Church of Santa Maria dos Anjos, the Capela Militar do Bom Jesus. After exploring Valença, we will board our comfortable vehicle again and continue this trip to Galicia. On the way to this Spanish region, we will admire spectacular natural landscapes, crossed by the iconic River Minho. Until we reach Baiona, a Spanish coastal village, where we will be welcomed by a pleasant Atlantic breeze.
Did you know that the Port of Baiona was the first European port to receive news of the discovery of America? It was in the year 1493 that the Caravela Pintra docked in this port, and gave the news brought by Christopher Columbus. If you are a history buff, be sure to visit the replica of this vessel and the iconic Monterreal Castle.
Explore the village, walking through the stone alleys of the historic center and admire the city's characteristic charm. With its mansions, vibrant squares and iconic churches, such as the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria.

After exploring La Guardia, we will visit Monte Santa Tecla. A place with spectacular landscapes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the River Minho and the green hills that separate the Spanish and Portuguese territories.
Here, learn about Castro culture, exploring the impressive Castro de Santa Tecla, an ancient Celtic settlement. And, the ancient ruins of circular houses, over 2000 years old. Always accompanied by our tour expert who will immersively explain the entire history of this place.
After visiting this fascinating place, it's time to embark on a peaceful trip back to Portugal. This will be the ideal time to relax and enjoy the fascinating scenery visible through the large windows. As our vehicle advances along the roads, we will pass through the lush forests and hills of Galicia, until we cross the border.
Once in Portuguese territory, we will be greeted by the wonderful landscapes of Minho, full of vineyards and beautiful hills. From here, we will continue to Viana do Castelo, the penultimate stop on this memorable trip.
When we arrive in this beautiful city, it will be time to go up to the famous Santa Luzia Sanctuary. Situated on Santa Luzia Hill, this iconic monument is known for its impressive architecture, inspired by the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Paris.
