This special day begins with a personalised welcome by your driver/guide, who will meet you at your hotel or accommodation in Porto at 9:00 am to start the premium tour. We will travel in a comfortable and exclusive vehicle, and you will see the landscape gradually transform until it reveals the heart of the Douro Valley, the oldest demarcated wine region in the world.
On the way, we will make a brief stop in Amarante, a medieval town where you can admire the bridge and the Church of São Gonçalo and, if you wish, sample some of its traditional sweets.
Afterwards, we head to Quinta da Pacheca, in Cambres, Lamego, a historic property dating back to before the Pombaline demarcation, whose name became famous in the 18th century with D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira, and which stood out for being one of the first to bottle wine under its own brand. True to its roots, Pacheca combines tradition with a contemporary vision that positions it as a global benchmark in prestigious wine tourism. Renowned for its Port wines and DOC Douro wines, from structured reds to elegant whites and the emblematic Rosé Pacheca. And venues such as The Wine House Hotel and the exclusive Wine Barrels.
Accompanied by the estate’s local guide, you will enjoy a guided tour through the vineyards, the traditional granite “lagares”, the historic winery, and the aging cellars, discovering production methods that have been passed down through generations. The visit concludes with a classic tasting of 2 DOC Douro wines and 2 Port wines, served in a tasting room overlooking the estate’s scenic landscape.
You will then be welcomed at the estate’s elegant restaurant for a signature lunch with wine pairing, where Portuguese cuisine is reinterpreted with sophistication, favouring regional and seasonal products. Comprising a starter, main course and dessert, and paired with premium wines, the menu offers an elegant food and wine experience, served with stunning views over the vineyards.
After lunch, free time to stroll around the property, relax or capture photographs that reflect the beauty of the Douro.
We then return to your private vehicle and continue towards Pinhão, following one of the most iconic routes in the region: the EN 222, often celebrated as one of the most beautiful roads in the world. This scenic drive winds along the Douro River, revealing impressive panoramas of terraced vineyards and historic wine estates.
In Pinhão, you may choose to enjoy some free time for local shopping or embark on an optional private boat tour of approximately one hour, aboard a silent, solar‑powered vessel. This experience offers privacy, comfort, and 360º views over the UNESCO‑listed landscape, a serene and unforgettable moment of contemplation.
By late afternoon, you will return to Porto in the comfort of your private vehicle, carrying with you the memory of a day enriched by history, refined flavours, and the true essence of the Douro Valley.
