Your full day private tour begins with a meet & greet with your expert guide just outside of your lodging in Porto. The transport will be in a comfortable minibus, with air conditioning and even a bottle of water.

As we head towards the Douro Demarcated Region, you can delight yourself with a relaxed visit to Amarante. Here you will have the opportunity to contemplate its historic centre, with its various monuments of great cultural importance, always in the company of your specialised guide. Notice particularly the Bridge and S. Gonçalo that stands over one of the tributary rivers of the Douro, the river Tâmega and explore the Church of S. Gonçalo of the 15th century and its Balcony of the Kings where you can see statues of four monarchs - D. João III, D. Sebastião, Cardinal-King D. Henrique and D. Filipe I.

While gazing at the scenery surrounding you, you can also take advantage of your free time to delight yourself with typical pastries from this area (additional cost) such as Foguetes de Amarante, Brisas do Tâmega, Papos de Anjo and the famous São Gonçalos.

To bring even more fascination to your eyes, we now proceed towards São Leonardo de Galafura - the most stunning viewpoint in the Douro - where you will want to be totally immersed in all the beauty of this natural landscape that surrounds you and stands over the River Douro. As stated by the poet and writer Miguel Torga about the Douro in one of his books - "it is not a panorama that the eyes contemplate: it is an excess of nature". The perfect place for photography lovers!

The Douro Valley is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001 and is the oldest demarcated and regulated area in the world. In this emblematic area of the Douro Valley you will witness how the landscape unveils a perfect blend between the natural evolution of the place over the years and the charms carved by human hands, such as the terraces.

Along the way towards the lunch stop, you can pose questions to your expert guide, or listen to the various curiosities concerning this wonderful region. Upon arrival you will be able to relish in the gastronomic dishes of the area, as well as be surprised by the local atmosphere that will be surrounding you during your lunch break.

After lunch, we will proceed to an activity that will leave you completely overwhelmed with the Douro's panoramic beauty. Through a pleasant 45-minute panoramic cruise on the Douro River (shared with other participants). Relax and contemplate the scenery full of vineyards, vegetation and local houses, which seems to have been taken from a piece of art.

After the cruise on the Douro River, enjoy a short stop in the historical village of Pinhão - the geographical centre of the Douro. Apart from the natural beauty, the local commerce and the handicraft shops, you must also visit the town's main tourist attraction, the Railway Station, built at the end of the 19th century. Attraction characterised by more than 3000 tiles in shades of blue, which bring life and colour to this station and which aim to recreate scenes, customs and the history of the region.

After all these outstanding experiences, you will also take part in a shared guided tour and a tasting of selected wines at a local winery. Immerse yourself in the history that this winery has to share with you through its origins, its owners and how the winemaking method works. After this short tour of the farm, you can taste selected wines and exchange opinions on the different flavours and qualities. All this in a cosy and friendly atmosphere. While savouring the last glass of wine, you may remember the best moments of the day, which memorably approach its end. Marvel at the beautiful return journey with stunning landscapes, until you arrive peacefully at the end of your journey at your accommodation in Porto or Gaia.
