The starting point of your full-day private tour will be at the door of your accommodation in Porto. You will be picked up by your exclusive guide, who will accompany you throughout the journey in a comfortable and safe vehicle.
Along the way, you will notice the changing landscapes as we leave Porto. From a more urban and flat scenery, we will gradually transition into more rural environments. As we enter the heart of Gerês, you will be greeted by its green landscapes, rivers, bridges, and mountain peaks. The diverse wildlife and flora, such as horses and oak forests, are some of the attractions of Gerês' ecosystem.
We will visit magnificent paradisiacal waterfalls. Admire the natural setting of two of the most well-known waterfalls in this area that will leave you completely amazed by their charm: the Fecha Barjas waterfall, also known as the Tahiti waterfall. We will then proceed to the Arado waterfall, with its various beautiful crystal-clear waterfalls surrounded by vegetation that transform into natural pools. Will you want to take a dip?
We will also visit Miradouro da Pedra Bela, a viewpoint located at over 800 meters of altitude. It will give you the magnificent opportunity to admire the scenic beauty filled with mountains, vegetation, and the winding Cavado River. We will descend towards Vilar da Veiga, a peaceful village surrounded by a river, in the Gerês region. Here, according to your preference, you can have lunch at a typical restaurant in the village.
After lunch, to fully enjoy the beauty of this area, especially known for its thermal waters, we will visit the main and most famous Portuguese Thermal Baths. As you explore this lively part of Gerês, you will also notice that it is surrounded by monuments and buildings, such as old stone houses, the main church, and several chapels, which will take you on a more historical and local journey.
After being transported by your guide, take the time to peacefully enjoy the refreshing river beaches in Vila do Gerês.
